#MyStory partners DRPDNM held workshops, talks and activities throughout Teden Kultur (The Week of Cultures) in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
#MyStory project partners InterMediaKT successfully organised the workshop “Media Literacy, migration and the role of online media journalism VOL II” on Monday 15th May. True to the aims of the project, InterMediaKT sought to apply media literacy education in shaping the ways in which the migrant crisis is presented in the media and in which it is perceived by EU citizens.
We are excited to announce that My Story, a film made by our #MyStory partners in Italy, EuroformRFS is a finalist in the MYART (Mediaterranean Youth) International Film Festival.
On 14 March 2017 the MyStory event in Leipzig took place. During in the morning session, presentations and a panel discussion gave an important insight into the role of media for integration and the benefits of digital storytelling and multimedia approaches. In the afternoon the participants had the chance to practice and tell their own digital stories.
Directed by Laszlo Hartai from the Hungarian Moving Image and Media Education Association, Imprint Media Messages explores the effect that negative media representations of migrants and refugees has had on the perceptions of Hungarian citizens and how these perceptions have been exploited by those in power. The documentary forms part of the #MyStory: Media, Migrants & Refugees Project funded by the European Commission's Europe for Citizens Programme and coordinated by The European Association for Viewers Interests - EAVI.
