Miqdaad Versi,  assistant secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain , is on a one-man mission to make the mainstream media more accountable by searching for inaccuracies in UK press stories concerning Muslims.

Since December last year he has made over 50 complaints and he is seeing some positive results in terms of corrections and apologies (seen below), although he feels sometimes the corrections are not visible enough. “Sometimes the corrections lack a clear acknowledgement of the error they made and often do not include an apology. In addition, they are rarely given the prominence of the original article.”
