On 14 March 2017 the MyStory event in Leipzig took place. During in the morning session, presentations and a panel discussion gave an important insight into the role of media for integration and the benefits of digital storytelling and multimedia approaches. In the afternoon the participants had the chance to practice and tell their own digital stories.
Under the motto of DENK (t) MAL, the Leipzig filmmaker Robert Jahn worked with participants in the integration course of Wisamar Bildungsgesellschaft gGmbH over the past months. We will show you the stories. In lectures and practical workshops, you will learn more about migrants in the media, how to convey topics, and how to process them by simple means.
This interactive investigative report into the shady economics of the migrant and refugee crisis in four countries: Niger, Italy, Turkey and Germany is a great example of digital storytelling and bucks the trend by actually involving the personal stories of the refugees affected by the crisis.
